Can you believe all of the humidity Chicago has been getting? One moment, it’s 70 degrees and breezy, and the next moment, it’s in the 90s and it feels like your skin is about to fry off. I blame El Nino for all of this weather ruckus.
What’s the key to cooling off while looking stylish at the same time? I’ve been going with light, long layers. It may sound simple, but a lot of people I know find it hard to layer in the summer. That’s why I’m here to help!
First of all, wear black at your own risk. I’m not trying to tell you what to do of course, but I’m assuming you stumbled upon this page because you were seeking advice. Secondly, style loosely. How can an outfit fit this summer criteria? Well, like this:
I’m wearing a vintage nightgown with a white crochet shawl, paired with a belt and a few long necklaces. The belt is always optional, but when it comes to silhouette and pops of color against the light fabric, it can do the trick.
An outfit like this checks everything off for me! Loose garments and layers? Check. Light colors? Check. This outfit can also be really worn anywhere, from a walk on Montrose Beach to a late summer barbecue in Lakeview. Now spread out your arms, throw some bangles on them, and enjoy the sun while it’s still out!
